When David Raymond Garrett was born on 4 November 1914, in Centerville, Davis, Utah, United States, his Father, David Arthur Garrett, was 38 and his Mother, Daisy Elizabeth Kirkham, was 33. He lived in Utah, United States in 1930 and Election Precinct 3, Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1940. He married Florence Vera Chisholm on 6 December 1940, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States. When she was born on 30 March 1917, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, her Father, Albert Edward Woolley Chisholm, was 36 and her Mother, Lovina Fitzgerald, was 40. She lived in Salt Lake City Ward 1, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1920 and Salt Lake City Ward 6, Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States in 1940. They were the parents of 2 Daughters. He died on 23 March 1947, in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 32, and he was buried at their eternal resting place in Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, Millcreek, Salt Lake, Utah, United States.
Florence Vera Chisholm Loving Mother, Grandmother and Friend to all
The Ancestors of Florence Vera Chisholm (Garrett Hardman) came from England, Wales, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and New Amsterdam. Vera's Mother Lovina Fitzgerald was born to John Fitzgerald and Sarah Ann Williams on 24 April 1876 in Draper, Salt Lake Co., Utah. There were many Aunts and Uncles living in Draper where her Mother was born and raised. The Fitzgeralds had settled there in the early days of the church. Vera died after a year of illness with cancer of the overies in the Evening of 18 February 1994, in Murray, Salt Lake, Utah, United States, at the age of 76, her last words said in the presence of her Step-daughter Shirley Hardman Rizzuto to her Granddaughter Krista Kirton was "hurry". Vera was laid to rest next to her Eternal Love, D. Raymond Garrett.
Albert Edward Wooley Chisholm was born 12 June 1880 in Brizton, Lambeth, Surry, England to Henry Edward Chisholm and Mary Ellen Jane Roberts. He came to the United States as a young man. He met and courted Lovina Fitzgerald by walking or riding a bike from Salt Lake to Draper to see his sweetheart. Lovina worked in Provo at the time. They were Married 30 September 1903 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake Co., Utah. Lovina died of cancer 10 June 1955 in Salt Lake City. He died 8 May 1980 only one month from his 100th Birthday in Murray, Salt Lake Co., Utah.
Vera wrote: My life began on this earth 30 March 1917 at 7:30pm at the Modern Maternity Home in Salt Lake City, Utah. I was the last of a family of four children 2 boys and 2 girls. I was very welcomed into this family. Their names are Harrold Fitzgerald. Ralph Valentine, Lois Marie, Father worked constantly to make ends meet. My Father and Mother had their home built at 1759 S. 4th East. Everyone had a problem with water in their basements so Father had our home built higher than anyone else around. Five steps went up to the front walk and another 13 steps went up to the front porch. They never finished the basement until my Brother, Harrold moved home and made a room for himself and a wash room with a shower. There was a stove for heating the wash water and an old wringer washer you put the clothes through by hand. We used to take the wash water out and throw it on the flowers. My Mother had beautiful flowers and was a good gardener. We had a gooseberry bush, apricot, apple and pear trees. I remember taking washtubs full of flowers to Draper on Memorial Day. My Mother was 41 years old when I was born. I was the only one...
